Recovery day. Jetlag has taken us (unfortunately) in different directions - I'm getting up early and Josie is staying up late!
Sat in Starbucks this morning to get on the T-Mobile hotspot, worked on the blog set up and posted some photos. Whew, glad I got that over with - after a while you get this sinking feeling that you are wasting all of your precious time...
Strolled over to the Kleinmarkethalle - a huge covered market full of every kind of meat, cheese, veggie and a few weinstubes too! We got a hot rindwurst and chowed down at a standup counter, delicious!
On the 2nd floor veranda was a great weinstube overlooking a small square, we had to stop here for a libation! We drank a few regional wines (dornfelder, spatburgunder, a reisling that I forget the name of) and I enjoyed a cigar; then we befriended a German couple in from Wiesbaden on a day trip. We wound up chatting away for the better part of an hour, sharing the local apple cider (gut!), bread and cheese. They we so nice, they even invited us over to Wiesbaden (maybe on our way back). With a nice buzz going, we set out for the rest of the day just strolling about and exploring more of the city. We walked by few high-end stereo shops, I forgot how nuts the Germans were about their hi-fi!
After a nap, we strolled some more ending up at a pizza joint for a late night snack and a few Koning beers. The ens of this long day found Josie surfing and updating her journal; and me climbing out onto the shady fire escape (5th floor) for a cigar and a few long exposure photos.
Guten nacht!
